Yann Martel is a Canadian writer. He is the author of a collection of short stories, a collection of letters to the Prime Minister of Canada, and of three novels, notably Life of Pi, which was an international bestseller and for which he won the 2002 Man Booker Prize.

It was adapted to the screen by Ang Lee, garnering four Oscars in 2012.
